Indications
Tosseque® is a cough expectorant syrup, containing bromhexine hydrochloride (0.8 mg/ml) as an active substance. Indicated as a mucolytic adjuvant (reduces mucus viscosity helping to eliminate excess mucus and phlegm) for the antibacterial treatment of respiratory infections, in cases of bronchial hypersecretion.
Posology
The recommended dose is:
- Adults and children over 12 years: 10 ml, 3 times/day
- Children aged 6 to 12 years: 5 ml, 3 times /day
- Children aged 2 to 6 years: 2.5 ml, 3 times /day
- Children under 2 years (should only be administered under medical supervision): 1.25 ml, 3 times/day
Contraindications
Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to bromhexine hydrochloride or any other component of this medicine, if you suffer from gastroduoenal ulcer. You should not take it concomitantly with antitussives.
